CD Dusty in Memphis  Dusty Springfield R & B Soul Album 1992 Release Date.  Not only is this Dusty's finest work, it is unanimously acknowledged as one of the great soul albums. The secret is in the production. Jerry Wexler, Tommy Dowd, and Arif Mardin enlisted the Sweet Inspirations and the best Memphis session boys for vocal support. Dusty's selection of material is exemplary, choosing songs by Randy Newman, Mann/Weill, Goffin/King, and Bacharach/David. This should have made her an international megastar; instead it scraped the US Top 100, failed to chart in the UK, and started her slow decline. It is a faultless record on which we have, thankfully, now recognized she was far too ahead of her time for her own good. Good pre-owned condition.

CD Ain't It the Truth Daryle Singletary 1998 Country Album Johnson Hobbs.  This contemporary country star has the kind of voice that bypasses your eardrums and cuts directly through to your bones, shaking them up and rattling them around. His warm baritone can wrap itself around a classic-sounding country ballad and communicate the sorrow therein without any obvious effort. Sure, he wears a designer cowboy hat and relies upon the usual Nashville faces for instrumental support of Biff Watson, Larry Byrom, etc. But the thing that sets Singletary apart from the pack is his ability to sink his teeth into a song with a minimum of histrionics and a whole lot of empathy. He doesn't attempt the big Pop Crossover here. He's content to sing simple, honest country songs in the way that only he can. Doug Johnson and John Hobbs also on the CD.  Good pre-owned condition.

This record also has Marion Evans and his Orchestra featured on it and it was produced by Howard Roberts. Some of the songs on the record are: The Lady's In Love With You; A Beautiful Friendship; I Don't Know Why; Don't Get Around Much Anymore and many other tunes. From Columbia Records we believe that this record is in good playing order although we have not been able to play it ourselves. No visible scratches or chips.

Record Bobby Darin That's All Richard Wess Album 12 Songs 1959 Mack The Knife. This album we believe was made at the end of 1958 or the beginning of 1959. On the back of the album is a telegram from Sammy Davis, Jr.  Some of the songs included are: Mack The Knife; Beyond The Sea; I'll Remember April; It Ain't Necessarily So; and That's The Way Love Is and many more. There are 12 songs in all. The arranger-conductor on the album was Richard Wess. Good pre-owned condition with one scratch on one side. We don't believe that this will effect the playing of the album, but we have not been able to play it to know for sure. Cover is a little worn.
